What was I thinking?

“Some days you just need to write your own “Take a Time Out” permission slip.”

~Robin Rosenstiel

I didn’t even realize that a month had passed since I wrote my last blog until I logged into the Mad Mini software yesterday. June started with an over booked travel schedule (I have no one to blame but myself for this big oops) and all I could keep telling myself was….

What was I thinking?

Once I returned home, I found myself needing some extensive down time to reset and reflect on why I push myself so hard some times. Funny that during this reflection period, I had a lot to say and wanted to write about it in my blog but for what ever reason, the words got all jumbled up in my head every time I sat down to type. So I decided that I truly needed to just stop and let the blog go for a while.

During this time out, I made time every morning to play my crystal harp (often referred to as a soul connection practice – creating a daily practice that connects you to your soul). While playing my harp one day, a thought popped into my head…

Wouldn’t it be great if everyone gave themselves permission to stop, breathe, and reconnect to their soul for a minute.

From that thought, I decided to put out weekly 1 minute sound restoration videos on Thursdays. I call them “Thoughtful Thursday” videos. Because…lets face it we all need to be reminded to give ourselves permission to take a time out. If you haven’t see the videos on Facebook or Instagram, check them out by clicking on the Facebook or Instagram buttons below.

When was the last time you wrote yourself a permission slip and gave yourself a time out?

Are you ready to re-connect to your heart, your passions, and your dreams? If so, then this workshop is for you. During this workshop, we will be focusing on rebalancing the 4th Chakra – also called the Heart Chakra – which is associated with love, balance, and connection. In this workshop, we will focus on reconnecting to heart based action through a series of grounding exercises, intuitive drawing, and sound meditation. By the end of the workshop you will feel calm, relaxed, and focused.

Please bring a personal journal and pen. If you prefer to lay on the floor during the sound meditation, please bring a yoga mat.

A general note about Chakra Health
You are constantly interacting with and responding to the world around you. So are your chakras. Practices that help clear and rebalance the chakras are never a “once and done” activity. Just as you would not expect your body to remain clean forever after one shower, your chakras are not going stay clear forever after one meditation, one yoga, or one Reiki session. On-going energetic self-care plays is essential for overall chakra health and well-being.

Today I Choose…

“Today, I choose to not let my self-doubt take over.  I am capable.  I am confident.  I am enough.”

~Good Gefe

What is your first reaction when you read the sentence….

TODAY, I CHOOSE ME!

Do you find yourself cringing and thinking “How self-absorbed and selfish?”

Do you find yourself smiling and thinking “YES!”

Do you find yourself not reacting and thinking “Let me check my schedule?”

There is no wrong or right answer here, as everyday gives you a new option to choose.

What is your “I CHOOSE” statement today?

Are You Ready For Creative Self Care?

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it, including yourself.”

~Anne Lamott

Creative self-care is not just about regular exercise, eating right, and making time to relax.

Creative self-care is about feeding your soul.

It’s making sure that you have something to be excited about when you get up in the morning. For me, that’s journaling, art, and walking in nature. For you it might be something else. Or, perhaps you aren’t even sure what gets you going anymore.

If you are feeling, low, anxious, or generally “blah,” passion is an excellent way to combat these feelings. How do you find your passion?

  • Schedule a creative play date,
  • Surround yourself with other creative people,
  • Have fun,
  • Play like a kid,
  • Daydream, and most of all….

Get out of our comfort zone and do something different!

What are fun activity are you going to do this weekend to get out of your comfort zone? I would love to hear about it.

Are you looking for some creative self-care this weekend?

Check out the events next weekend at the Kent Emporium. Both are guaranteed to kick start your creativity and your intuition.

Following Breadcrumbs

“In the midst of confusion, follow your intuition.”

~Rubyanne

Every since last year, I’ve had an urge to move forward with Plant Medicine. The problem….

There is no roadmap!

So what did I do? I did all of the logical things a business strategist would do. I did research, I studied different plants (example: hemps) and their growing/harvesting techniques, licensing requirements, and their marketing applications. I investigated how others sold their products and courses. During this research phase, “intuition” emails kept popping into my email box which I promptly ignored. Lets be honest…

I don’t have time for “Woo Woo” intuition right now, I need a plan!

Last week I found myself going down the slippery slope of “fear”. I started worrying that I would never figure out the plan (even though professionally I assess businesses and create business plans). And as I sat with my “fear”, I started worrying about my medicinal plants at the Kent Emporium and whether they would survive 2019 or be “once again” destroyed by a weed whipper. I started to think…

It’s already May and here goes another year down the drain in regards to me pursuing my dream.

So I looked at one of the “Intuition” emails and decided to sign up for a “Plant Intuition” on-line workshop that was tugging at me. As I signed up, I told myself….

This is my last ditch effort to move forward with Plant Medicine.

After I signed up, I went back to worrying about my Kent Emporium plants. For anyone who does not know the story, every year “something” happens to my medicinal plants at the Kent Emporium and I end up filling the space with Petunias (blog post). Over the course of the past few years, I’ve learned to not really like Petunias. Petunias have come to represent people chopping down my dreams and replacing them something “simple”. You know…like replacing a 5-star restaurant with a fast food chain.  Needless to say, all of this worrying took me down an interesting road…

What if I surround my medicinal plants with Petunias?

People will see the Petunias and walk away thinking it is a flower patch and not a weed patch. So I googled to see if birds or bees are attracted to Petunias. I discovered that hummingbirds and hummingbird moths like Petunias. So at least there is at least one redeeming quality to a Petunia. I drove to Menards and purchased a bunch of Petunias and I started to plant the flowers in front of my medicinal herbs (yarrow, lambs ear, lemon balm, cat nip, comfrey, etc.). As I planted the flowers I found myself getting inspired with which medicinal plants I needed to purchase next and where to plant them. As I planted the last Petunia, I started to wonder what chakra the Petunia is associated with and if I made a flower essence from the Petunia what would the effects be. And this is what I discovered…

Petunia flower is in harmony with the sacral and heart chakras. Friendship and wellbeing are the enduring symbols of the Petunia flower, with as many colors as the rainbow, a bed of these beauties is like a magic carpet bringing the meaning of blessing between friends.

Petunia is the flower essence for the dreamer. It helps make dreams come into reality, and makes anything a possibility. For creative visualization and inspiration, for the dreamweavers. This essence allows the realization that if you can dream it, you can have it. It brings a sense of wonder, puts dreams within reach, imparts the ability to dream the future, ponder the possibilities of optimal futures, bringing an inner knowing that there are no limits and that everything is possible in a self-generated reality.

I even stumbled across a shamanic plant reference… some have reported that the Petunia is used in South America in a sacred shamanic context but no details are available apart from suggestions that it is used for soul or astral travelling….aka…magic carpet ride.

And here is the funniest part of this story. As part of the “Plant Intuition” course, the focus this week was on “Meeting A Plant Ally”. The meditation involved meeting and working with a plant ally for the next 6 weeks that keeps showing up in your life. YUP…you guessed it….

PETNUIA

Reconnecting To My Roots

“It isn’t the farm that makes the farmer. It is the love, the hard work, and character.”

~Unknown

This year I had plans to return to plant medicine. It’s only April and at this point the road sure isn’t what I expected. In the past 2 weeks, an odd twist of fate has found me returning to the family farm to take care of some farm business. For those who are unaware of my childhood background, I grew up on a 225 acre farm (mix of beef, pigs. chickens, hay, and corn). Starting at the age of 7 or 8, I was actively involved in farming. I did farm chores every morning and night (whether it was sub-zero or 90+degrees), bailed hay every summer, and belonged to 4-H and FFA. After I graduated from High School, I couldn’t wait to leave the farm for the big city as I decided farming just wasn’t for me. I went to University, moved to Chicago, and for years, I never looked back. However over the years, I slowly migrated back to the land and for a while (1997-2005) I grew medicinal herbs using organic and bio-dynamic methods.

In the past two week, as I started to review what was going on with the family farm business, I found it interesting how my professional hard skills (Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement and Strategic Project Management) and soft skills (intuition, empathy, and compassion) have been called on for the task. I have never really talked in depth about my professional life on this blog, as I wasn’t sure how the two worlds would blend. In the corporate manufacturing world, I’ve built a reputation as being the person to call when “everything hits the fan” (failed projects, union disputes, capacity constraints, etc.). Corporations have spoken highly of my skill set for assessing situations with a fresh perspective. I have a “problem solving knack” for getting to the root cause quickly and identifying next steps. I often joke and tell people that I blame my “problem solving knack” on my farming upbringing. I always tell people “when the cows get out, you can do a half ass job, patch the fence and then fix the fence again tomorrow or you can take 5 minutes to get to the root cause and correct the fence the proper way.”

So why am I telling you about my professional background? I think it helps to understand my professional background in order to understand my approach to assessing the farming situation including the results.

I decided to handle this farm situation (removal of a boundary fence line and trees) like any other corporate request. I collected the facts, spoke to various people involved, and walked the land. I did my own professional assessment of the situation in order to get to the root cause of the decisions made and the approach taken in order to determine next steps. And this is what I saw as a professional Business Assessor looking in…

Cost/Benefit = 9.8+year payback

In the Corporate Manufacturing world, this project would never have been approved. The 3 key questions that every manufacturing company asks:

  • Did you reduce headcount?
  • Did you reduce costs?
  • Did you increase profit?

It might sound harsh, but this is the world we live in when we manufacture product (whether its building tractors or growing corn).

As a Business Assessor, this payback doesn’t justify the cost and time to implement (regardless of the negative impact to the environment). What is even more interesting is that this farming practice has been happening in Northern Illinois since my return to the area in 2010. Trees and timbers have been and are continuing to be removed to make space for more tillable farm land. As I type this, my heart gets heavier and heavier as I peel back the layers and must personally face the truth that I’ve been avoiding. As a culture, a lot of people (including farmers) are…

Disconnected from the earth
Disconnected from our roots
Disconnected with what it means to be a farmer

Coming from a farming background, I have always held farmers in the highest respect. They work hard and are viewed as stewards of the land. Paul Harvey described it best…

And God Created A Farmer

In the past 2 weeks, I have taken off my “rose colored” glasses and started to look at farming with a fresh pair of eyes. My fences can be rebuilt and the trees can be replanted, however somewhere along the way the soul of the farmer has been lost. The ugly truth….

The current farming system is broken!

So I’m not sure how this odd twist of fate will tie into plant medicine, but one thing I know for sure…I have reconnected to my roots and …

I AM A FARMER!

Life is a Mystery – The Gift in a Left Field Tragedy

“Life is not a problem to be solved but a great mystery to be lived.”

~Joseph Campbell

This year I’ve had an urge to return to tracking the phases of the moon. Years ago when I was growing medicinal herbs, I use to create biodynamic preps, start seeds, transplant, spray, and harvest crops based on the rhythm of the moon. There is even a planting calendar available for those curious to learn more. Click here for link.

As a result of this urge, I started a new tradition several months ago of pulling 1 animal oracle card for the New Moon and one card for the Full Moon. The New Moon card represents the energy that is coming into my life this month, while the Full Moon card represents shining light on the energy that is holding me back (shadow side that is ready to be seen, acknowledged, and released). I’ve been tracking what transpires each month and I’m finding the 1 card readings to be spot on. This is what I pulled for the April New Moon….

Monday while I was sitting at a local coffee shop having a discussion with my mother and my aunt, another coffee drinker informed us that the Norte Dame cathedral was burning. I was shocked and immediately Googled and watched as the cathedral burned. Watching this devastation reminded me of my own “left field” tragedies.

“Left field” tragedy definition: an unforeseen tragic event – whether the event is a loss of a family member, a betrayal, or an “act of god” fire, flood, tornado, or earthquake.

I’m sure others who watched the Norte Dame videos or saw the pictures were also triggered by memories of their own personal left field tragedy(s). From my own experiences, when a left field tragedy hits, two questions immediately pop into my head….

Why is this happening?
Why is this happening to me?

Let’s face it. When a tragedy hits, we all take it personally. This is human nature. Often times we will never know the full story. And does it really matter? To this day there are a few on my own “left field” tragedies that I can honestly tell you…

I don’t know why!

But what I can tell…with each “left field” tragedy, I wasn’t given a rule book or instructions on how to respond, instead I simply followed my gut. I walked through the motions and took action daily not knowing what the end result would be. There were days when I was angry, when I was scared, when I was stressed out, and when I was exhausted. Some days were easy and some days were train wrecks. I even kept a quote on my refrigerator to remind myself…

“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I’ll try again tomorrow. ~Mary Anne Radmacher

Over the years, I have shared that quote with others who needed support as they were walking through their own “left field” tragedy. As I reviewed pictures of the post Notre Dame fire, I took a moment and stopped and turned around and looked at my own tragedies with a fresh set of eyes. And instead of seeing the loss, the sadness, and disappointment, I saw the gifts…

The Tragedy/The Gift

(T) Bad leadership in Corporate America / (G) Purchased a run down hardware store/tavern that I now consider home

(T) Partner canceling a liquor license / (G) Stepped into the uncharted territory of living an extraordinary life

(T) Freak “divine act of god” flood / (G) Final “!” for closing the old chapter of my life

(T) Misunderstanding around an old Family farm tree line/boundary fence / (G) Yet To Be Determined

This Easter Weekend, take a moment to stop and turn around and look at your own tragedies with a fresh set of eyes.

What gifts to you see from your own past tragedies?

Have a great Easter Weekend!
P.S. After I completed my blog this AM, I pulled a Full Moon card…go figure!

The Universe Is Sending You Messages – Are You Listening?

“If you are waiting for a sign from the universe, THIS IS IT. NOW GO DO IT!”

~The Universe

Last week, I had a series of meaningful coincidences (synchronicity in action).
While traveling for business, I stayed in a hotel room that symbolically showed me what happens after I say “I’M DONE“.

“I’m Done” has represented many things in my life – from working for unethical businesses, to bully bosses, to outdated relationships and patterns.

As I checked into the hotel, I was informed that my room had been upgraded. The upgraded room would be located on a floor where there is construction activity going on (hotel remodeling). I was informed that there would be no noise as the construction had completed for the day and would not start again until 9AM the next day. I really didn’t think much about it, as I have lived in multiple construction zones with my 93 year old building over the years, so I took the hotel room key and proceeded to the elevator.

When I got off of the elevator, to my left there was a tarp closing off the left hallway and to my right there was a glass door stating “Do Not Enter”. Of course I entered the Glass door, as I could see the hall of rooms (besides I tend to not follow instructions very well). As I walked down the hallway corridor, I started to realized that there were no door numbers and some rooms were cracked open as refurbishing activities were still being completed. So I turned around and headed back to the elevator and thought to myself…

“There is some mistake here as there are NO rooms on this floor!”

However just as I was getting back on the elevator, I turned around and noticed 1 door next to the exit staircase door (across from the elevator). That 1 door had an assigned room number – my room #220. At this point I was feeling a bit skeptical (as this was the ONLY available room on the entire floor), so I unlocked the door and to my surprise…

I felt like I just walked into a Harry Potter movie!

I walked into a full suite with a large living room area, a bar area, a bedroom with a king bed, and a bathroom with a giant Jacuzzi hot tub. All I could do is laugh and say…

I got the message!

I laughed because there I was in an awesome safe space in the middle of a construction zone. I took a few pictures and sent them to a friend who immediately responded with the comment “That space is larger than my old apartment in New York City!”

So what is the message…

Transformation is like a remodeling project.
Except instead of remodeling your house, you are remodeling your life.

Symbolically, the construction zone represents how my life is currently being “remodeled”. And as the remodeling is taking place, there is nothing to fear as I will still be comfortable with the items I feel are a necessity in my life – a big soaking tub, a king size bed, a large living room, and a bar.

Based on having an entire hotel floor to myself, my “remodeling” project might be a little larger than I expected (I wonder what is behind the curtain?!?). But as anyone knows when it comes to remodeling projects, you can always start small and focus on one room at a time.

What is even more interesting is that after I settled into my room, I received an email from a friend mentioning that she received a message from her spirit guides but was struggling to interpret it and asked me for my opinion. So I quickly created a sound meditation for her and sent it to her.

2 days later, I told another friend about the synchronicity of events and she mentioned to me that she struggles to see any signs from the universe and asked me for my advice.
So what did I do? This week, I created a sound restoration meditation video to assist people with seeing and interpreting the signs from the universe. If you are curious, please check out the video and email me what you discovered. As I would love to see if there are any common themes. The link is below:

Life Lessons From a 93 Year Old Building

“If this building could talk, there would be a lot of swearing involved!”
~Robin Rosenstiel

2 weeks ago during my 2nd floor Spring Cleaning frenzy I mentioned to a friend (who is a contractor) how I hated my staircase (93 years of dirt, grim, glue, various finishes, etc.) and regretted not having Lenny (my contractor 9 years ago) restore it when he offered. There is a story behind my decision 9 years ago – lets just say that after a summer of remodeling the 2nd floor apartment of my 1926 hardware store, I simply got tired of Lenny’s lack of vision.
So Tuesday night when I returned home at 11pm from a 7 day business trip to Montreal and Quebec City (leading business Continuous Improvement/Lean Assessments), imagine my surprise when I saw my large staircase (which separates the workshop space from my apartment space) stripped down to the original wood.

My 1st thought…WOW that looks amazing!

My 2nd thought …WOW – only someone really frustrated and angry would take the time to do strip this staircase!

Wednesday I got the rest of the story that confirmed my 2nd thought. As a Transformational Coach and Mentor for Businesses and Individuals, I was fascinated by the story and the reaction it created. What was the story?

It’s the first step on the staircase to transformation (how poetic).

It’s the same story I’ve repeated in my own life, time and time again. It’s the story behind why I purchased a 1926 hardware store. It’s the story behind why I moved to Toronto. It’s the story behind why I moved back to Kent. It’s the story behind why I became a Transformational Coach and Mentor.

It’s the story where you stop ignoring the red flags, stop denying the situation, and instead accept the facts. It’s the story where you re-evaluate/determine your values and draw a line in the sand and say…

I’M DONE!!!”

Needless to say, the building is coming out of “hibernation mode” and it’s dragging me along kicking and screaming. I had other plans this past weekend. I was going to focus on developing an on-line workshop for Restore.Rebalance.Refocus. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to put it on the back burner. Nothing like 93 years of dust and dirt messing havoc with your sinuses. Let’s be serious – no one is going to want to watch a video series of someone, coughing, wheezing and sneezing. Instead I had to refocus my efforts on picking out paint colors for my staircase walls and cleaning up the Kent Emporium web site. So stay tune for more information about the on-line experience!

And for those in the area, join me on Sunday March 31st for a workshop at the Kent Emporium as we prepare for Spring. Details below.

The Winter of My Discontent

“Discontent is the first step in transformation. No one wants to transform, however you do have a choice. You can either “touch the jaguar” and move through your discontent or you can sit on the sidelines and wait for the Universal 2×4. It’s your choice.”

~Robin Rosenstiel

Since Thanksgiving, I’ve been struggling with moving forward with my blogs and my 2019 offers. I was hoping the trip to Costa Rica in January and the Gong Yoga workshop in February would get me out of this funk. Sadly they were temporary fixes. When I returned home, everything continued to feel disconnected and out of place. As a result, I’ve been struggling with finding the right words to write and the right actions to take. By last Friday, this lack of forward momentum had left me feeling frustrated, angry and generally dissatisfied. In all honesty, I felt like my life and my business have been put into a deep freeze by Mother Nature – snow, rain, ice, wind, illness, and too many cats. At first I avoided it (my favorite activity) and then I tried to push through my resistance and take action (my 2nd favorite activity), and finally this past weekend I gave up the fight and surrendered (my least favorite activity) and decided to…

Spend the weekend sitting with my discontent.

What is discontent? Merriam-Webster Definition: Lack of satisfaction with one’s possessions, status, or situation.

So how did I spending the weekend with my discontent? I’m sure you are thinking that sounds pretty painful, but in all honesty…

Ignoring the discontent is more painful then actually sitting with it.

I decided to be open and curious and have fun with it by getting out of my head and reconnecting to my heart and my soul by painting. Lets face it….

Transformation doesn’t have to be full of hardship and struggle!

I created a playful new technique where I ask myself a question and then intuitively look through the Watercolor YouTube videos and select a picture to paint. I would then preceded to paint the picture and notice what emotions or thoughts would appear. Afterwards I did some quick Google research to better understand the symbolism of the picture and how it pertained to my discontent. This is what I learned…

What does my discontent look like and feel like?

Mountains in the distance – feels like an unsurmountable hurdle in the distance. I did a body scan and realized that my discontent has been sitting in my lower back (which explains why my lower back has been bothering me since the start of January and I never have back issues).

What does my discontent want me to know?

Poppies – Demeter (goddess of agriculture) used the poppy to help her rest, and this period of barrenness became the season of winter. To me, this means that it is a season of stillness, a time to hibernate and integrate all I learned in 2018 before moving forward. Interesting observation – I’ve been seeing poppies every where for the past two weeks.

What is the most loving action I can take to resolve this discontent?

Koi Fish – be grateful for what I have….as prosperity depends more on wanting what I have vs. having what I want. To me this means that I need to stop focusing on what the future might look like and instead focus on the beauty that every day brings (whether that is a beautiful sunset, sunrise, a tasty meal, or a pina colada).

Where am I now in relationship to this discontent?

A boat silently sitting in still water – waiting. As I looked at the painting, I noticed that the boat is tried to shore, with the sails down and the sun rising in the sky. To me this means that I’m waiting for something to happen.

What is emerging by sitting with my discontent?

Square and Compass – time to recalibrate my internal compass to True North before setting course. WOW – I didn’t see that one coming! But the more I reflect on it, the more it makes sense. This visual helped explain why everything is feeling off balance and disconnected in my life right now. It’s time for me to stop trying to do and instead some time and decide what “Ture North” looks and feels like now, as a lot has changed in the past year. As an interesting fact, the Earth’s magnetic North has also been shifting at an accelerated speed. Maybe we are all feeling a bit unbalanced and off centered these days as the Earth shifts.

After I wrote this blog, I created the quote. What is funny about the quote is that I’ve had a couple of universal 2×4 “doozies” and they always seem to happen between October and January. Hmmmm….maybe by making the choice and sitting with my discontent and taking action, I’m avoiding the Universal 2X4?

Are you feeling discontent this winter?

For those of you who have no interest in following my painting technique, I have created 2 videos to help you sit with your own discontent.

Meeting Plant Spirit Medicine

“Every healer has their favorite home remedy. Mine is Pina Coladas!”

~Robin Rosenstiel

On my last blog I mentioned that I did not have the opportunity to learn about plant medicine while I was in Costa Rica. Costa Rica is known for Cacao – a heart opening plant medicine. I was looking forward to learning more about the plant and the transformational ceremonies around the plant. But due to unforeseen events, this did not happen while at the Permaculture Resort. It was OK – life happens. But a funny thing that did happen while I was at the Permaculture

I suddenly had this urge to have Pina Coladas.

Anyone that knows me well, knows I don’t drink these types of drinks. I think that last time I had a Pina Colada was in college and if was made from a processed mix full of sugar…yuck!!! So I thought it was rather odd that I found myself tthinking about Pina Cola’s constantly while at the Permaculture Resort. So when we left the Permaculture Resort and moved to the next resort, several cohorts and myself immediately went to the bar and ordered Pina Coladas. The Pina Coladas tasted so refreshing and awesome. This was no “processed” mix, but instead fresh pineapples and coconuts. Nothing like the taste of fresh homemade cocktails…yummy! It became my drink of choice for the rest of the trip.

When I returned home to Northern Illinois and went grocery shopping guess what was the first item I saw when I walked through the store doors….Pineapples. I got the message loud and clear. I laughed, googled, and then picked up the fresh pineapples, coconuts, and coconut water in order to make my own Pina Coladas. I didn’t see that one coming…making my own Pina Coladas during ice and snow storms…hahaha. With each Pina Colada I drank (some with rum and some w/o rum), I noticed how happy and joyful the drink made me feel. I did some research and discovered…

Pineapple + Coconut = Finding the Joy In Your Own Inner Strength

For those who are unaware, food can be used to balance your chakras. Pineapple is associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra and Coconut is associated with the Crown Chakra.

A week later I got sick and while I laid in bed coughing I googled natural remedies for coughs (as I was iced/snowed in and couldn’t get to town). Guess what the first remedy that appeared on my google search? Yes – you got it…

  • Pineapple contains an anti-inflammatory compound called bromelain.
  • Coconut is know for its high concentration of electrolytes and strong antioxidant properties.

Last week while I was at O’Hare Airport waiting for my flight to Toronto for Gong Yoga Training I stopped at the Teavana Tea Shop. I ordered a Green Tea with Ginger (highly recommended it if you have a cold). When I went to pick up my drink I spotted the various loose tea blends on the wall available for sale. Are you ready….yup..

Pina Cola Tea

Of course I purchased the tea and the smell makes me giggle with delight. This is getting to be too crazy as you know I just can’t make this stuff up. I’m not a fortune teller, but I’m envisioning Pina Coladas at the Paint and Pour in April.

Why am I telling you this story? This is Plant Spirit Medicine in action. How plants can communicate with and aid all of us in the power of healing —not merely their
physical medicinal properties, but the deeper wisdom and gifts that they offer. So the next time you have an urge to eat a specific plant…pay attention…that plant might just be talking to you.

So thanks Daniel…I did learn plant medicine in Costa Rica! I didn’t get what I wanted…I got what I needed.
