“In the midst of confusion, follow your intuition.”
Every since last year, I’ve had an urge to move forward with Plant Medicine. The problem….
There is no roadmap!
So what did I do? I did all of the logical things a business strategist would do. I did research, I studied different plants (example: hemps) and their growing/harvesting techniques, licensing requirements, and their marketing applications. I investigated how others sold their products and courses. During this research phase, “intuition” emails kept popping into my email box which I promptly ignored. Lets be honest…
I don’t have time for “Woo Woo” intuition right now, I need a plan!
Last week I found myself going down the slippery slope of “fear”. I started worrying that I would never figure out the plan (even though professionally I assess businesses and create business plans). And as I sat with my “fear”, I started worrying about my medicinal plants at the Kent Emporium and whether they would survive 2019 or be “once again” destroyed by a weed whipper. I started to think…
It’s already May and here goes another year down the drain in regards to me pursuing my dream.
So I looked at one of the “Intuition” emails and decided to sign up for a “Plant Intuition” on-line workshop that was tugging at me. As I signed up, I told myself….
This is my last ditch effort to move forward with Plant Medicine.
After I signed up, I went back to worrying about my Kent Emporium plants. For anyone who does not know the story, every year “something” happens to my medicinal plants at the Kent Emporium and I end up filling the space with Petunias (blog post). Over the course of the past few years, I’ve learned to not really like Petunias. Petunias have come to represent people chopping down my dreams and replacing them something “simple”. You know…like replacing a 5-star restaurant with a fast food chain. Needless to say, all of this worrying took me down an interesting road…
What if I surround my medicinal plants with Petunias?
People will see the Petunias and walk away thinking it is a flower patch and not a weed patch. So I googled to see if birds or bees are attracted to Petunias. I discovered that hummingbirds and hummingbird moths like Petunias. So at least there is at least one redeeming quality to a Petunia. I drove to Menards and purchased a bunch of Petunias and I started to plant the flowers in front of my medicinal herbs (yarrow, lambs ear, lemon balm, cat nip, comfrey, etc.). As I planted the flowers I found myself getting inspired with which medicinal plants I needed to purchase next and where to plant them. As I planted the last Petunia, I started to wonder what chakra the Petunia is associated with and if I made a flower essence from the Petunia what would the effects be. And this is what I discovered…
Petunia flower is in harmony with the sacral and heart chakras. Friendship and wellbeing are the enduring symbols of the Petunia flower, with as many colors as the rainbow, a bed of these beauties is like a magic carpet bringing the meaning of blessing between friends.
Petunia is the flower essence for the dreamer. It helps make dreams come into reality, and makes anything a possibility. For creative visualization and inspiration, for the dreamweavers. This essence allows the realization that if you can dream it, you can have it. It brings a sense of wonder, puts dreams within reach, imparts the ability to dream the future, ponder the possibilities of optimal futures, bringing an inner knowing that there are no limits and that everything is possible in a self-generated reality.
I even stumbled across a shamanic plant reference… some have reported that the Petunia is used in South America in a sacred shamanic context but no details are available apart from suggestions that it is used for soul or astral travelling….aka…magic carpet ride.
And here is the funniest part of this story. As part of the “Plant Intuition” course, the focus this week was on “Meeting A Plant Ally”. The meditation involved meeting and working with a plant ally for the next 6 weeks that keeps showing up in your life. YUP…you guessed it….
Are you following the breadcrumbs or ignoring the signs of your dream?
If you are need of an intuition jump start, check out the events next weekend at the Kent Emporium. Both are guaranteed to kick start your creativity and your intuition.
