The Space Between

“Honor the space between no longer and not yet.”
~Nancy Levin

After returning from Toronto on Monday, I found myself relaxed, refocused, and re-energized. I was ready to start on my next passion project but stopped dead in my tracks. The Kent space on the 2nd floor didn’t feel right. And as a result, I’ve been spending the week shifting the space around. I started to remove items, add items, and shift everything around. The place looks a bit like chaos right now (as I’m not done yet). If an outsider looked into my space before I started shifting things around, I would be asked..

Why are you doing this?

After years of re-inventing my life I can tell you without reservation…..

This is part of my creative process. I have to remove what is no longer needed in order to clear the slate and make space for something new to appear.

This is one of the core elements of Elephant Medicine – removal of obstacles and barriers (see Paint and Pour below). So today as I type this blog, I’m in-between the space of no longer and not yet. My mind is a blank canvas as I focus on just one task this week…

Honoring the space between endings and beginnings.

This past week, at the SHIFT Meeting, I was blessed with the opportunity to talk about finding the calm in the chaos of life. I spoke about the importance of finding your own anchor so when chaos comes (and it always does), you can be the eye of the storm. In prep for the holiday season, a season traditionally filled with nonstop go-go-go and do-do-do obligations, I will be offering weekly meditation classes for those that want a little “self care” time to find your anchor among the storm we call “The Holiday Season”. Details to follow next week. So stay tune.  In the meantime….
