Freedom Friday

eagle-up-close-and-personal“Find Your Freedom.
And Breathe There.
Drink There.
Live There.”

~Project Happiness

For the past several months, I have been seeing a lot of Eagles in very odd places.  And when a friend sent me an Eagle picture that he took on Wednesday, I knew I needed to really step back and embrace:

Eagle Medicine:
Teach us to take a step back and view the bigger picture.

Eagle is a symbol for freedom.  Eagle teaches us to open our minds and hearts to see past old, restricting beliefs that are holding us back. Eagle teaches us to courageously face our fear of the unknown, so we are then able to fly as high as our heart’s joy can take us. Eagle teaches us how to soar by using our strengths wisely, being confident and trusting our abilities.

What Freedom looks like to me:

  • Self Care rituals of hot salt baths, massages, and reflexology;
  • Laughing while sharing stories and sipping coffee at a local coffee shop with friends;
  • Saying NO to less important tasks so there is room for larger YES dreams;
  • Not overbooking myself so there is space every day for unexpected joy;
  • Allowing my days to flow vs. following a rigid linear path;
  • Daily magical adventure walks in nature;
  • Living and working anywhere I want to throughout the world;
  • Gardening and Farming “Robin” style;
  • Following the abundance model (always enough money, time, and love) in the pursuit of my dreams and passions;
  • Being my passionate, goofy, heartfelt soulful self;

What does freedom look like to you?
Are you putting your time, money, and energy toward actions that lead you towards your freedom?
If you could take one action every Friday, what would it look like to you?

So I Flyeagle-in-tree

When life pushes me beyond what I know
When the joy fills me up
When the fear tries to settle in
When I am holding on to hope with each breath
When all this and more leads me to feel unsure of the next step,
sometimes I step outside, feel the warm sun upon my shoulders, look up at the blue sky, and decide it is time:
So I fly.

Let It Go

kindness

“Keep what is worth keeping and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.”

~Dinah McCraik

I don’t know about you, but this week has been totally crazy (and it is only Thursday)…OMG!!! As the week unfolds, instead of going into reaction mode, I’ve been sitting back observing with curiosity as to what triggers me and why. It is an interesting exercise in preparation for the full moon on Saturday 1/23/16. Historically full moons where seen as a powerful time to release what no longer serves you. Even seeds germinate best if planted during a full moon. So imagine yourself as a seed getting ready to burst out and grow.

* What old burden (weed) is holding you back from growing?

* What old identity, behavior, attitude, relationship needs to be released so you can grow?

Releasing Ritual For The Full Moon:

  1. Write what you want to release down on a piece of paper
  2. Resolve to let it go as you throw the piece of paper into the fire
  3. Seal the action by stating “I am now releasing this with kindness” and blowing the intention into the flame

 community-graceTHE COMMON THREAD

I thought it would be interesting to point out a fascinating word rock (orange word rock on the left side) that sits in our community bowl.  It is difficult to see what it says, but I feel it is the common thread we all share within our community…

The Rebel!

Below is a meditation to the Rebel in each and every one of us…enjoy.

Community Grace

Hold the vision, Trust the process.”
~Author unknown

Above is an assortment of words that individuals from our global tribe have selected to live with for 2016.  For those unfamiliar with the tradition, instead of declaring New Year Resolutions (that often fail by February 1st), a word (or phrase) is selected as a guide.  This word (or phrase) can be something you want to manifest in your life in 2016 or simply a word that reminds you to be curious throughout 2016 as your life unfolds.

Is there a word that you would like to try and live with for 2016?

If you would like to add your word to the global tribe bowl, please send me an email and I will create and add your word rock to the bowl (plus send you a picture so you can create your own word altar).

BEATITUDES FOR THE WEIRD

– Jacob Nordby –

Blessed are the weird people

—poets, misfits, writers, mystics

heretics, painters & troubadours—

for they teach us to see the world through different eyes.

Blessed are those who embrace the intensity of life’s pain and pleasure,

for they shall be rewarded with uncommon ecstasy.

Blessed are ye who see beauty in ugliness,

for you shall transform our vision of how the world might be.

Blessed are the bold and whimsical,

for their imagination shatters ancient boundaries of fear for us all.

Blessed are ye who are mocked for unbridled expression of love in all its forms,

because your kind of crazy is exactly that freedom for which the world is unconsciously begging.

Blessed are those who have endured breaking by life,

for they are the resplendent cracks through which the light shines.
